Question

What is LiteSpeed hosting?

LiteSpeed hosting is web hosting where the HTTP server is LiteSpeed instead of Apache or Nginx. Built by LiteSpeed Technologies, it handles connections with an event-driven design, ships its own page cache (LSCache) and supports HTTP/3. For WordPress, that means faster page delivery and steadier performance under load.

LiteSpeed understands rules written for Apache (.htaccess files), so WordPress plugins that rely on them, such as permalink or security plugins, work unchanged. PHP runs through LSAPI, LiteSpeed’s native PHP interface.

The server comes in two editions. Hosterwise runs LiteSpeed Enterprise, the commercial edition, not OpenLiteSpeed: .htaccess files are honoured just as on Apache, with no server restart, ESI keeps a personalised block (cart, admin bar) inside a cached page, and every server-side LSCache feature is supported.

Why choose a LiteSpeed host for WordPress?

Because LiteSpeed and WordPress are built to work together: LSCache is driven straight from the free LiteSpeed Cache plugin, cached pages are served without running PHP, the QUIC.cloud CDN brings them close to your visitors and HTTP/3 cuts connection time, especially on mobile.

  • LSCache server cache

Cached pages are served by the web server itself, without hitting PHP or the database. For dynamic pages, a Redis object cache is available on every plan.

  • QUIC.cloud CDN and HTTP/3

Your pages are served from the worldwide QUIC.cloud network, over HTTP/3 end to end: less latency for distant visitors and faster connections on mobile networks.

  • LiteSpeed Enterprise

The commercial edition of the server: an event-driven design that keeps response times steady during traffic peaks, ESI and full support for LSCache features.

  • Works with your plugins

.htaccess rules written for Apache keep working: you can move an existing WordPress site without rewriting its configuration.

  • Security included

Free SSL certificate, anti-virus scans and automatic backups (weekly or daily depending on the plan), automatic WordPress updates.

  • Human 24/7 support

A team that knows LiteSpeed and WordPress answers at any time, in English or French.

Question

What does the QUIC.cloud CDN add in front of our LiteSpeed servers?

Every Hosterwise site is served through QUIC.cloud, LiteSpeed’s own CDN. This worldwide reverse proxy keeps a copy of your public pages close to your visitors, purges it together with the server’s LSCache cache and speaks HTTP/3 end to end. The result: a site that is fast at home and on the other side of the world.

A classic CDN often handles only images, CSS and JavaScript. QUIC.cloud also caches the HTML pages WordPress generates, because it shares the logic of the LiteSpeed Cache plugin: when a page is purged on our server, its copy on the network is purged too. The cart, checkout, customer account and admin are never served from cache: the LiteSpeed server still computes them live.

According to the official QUIC.cloud network map, the CDN had 78 points of presence across 8 world regions when we checked on 12 October 2026 (North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, Africa…). It is included in every plan, with no QUIC.cloud subscription to take out on your side.

LiteSpeed, Apache or Nginx: what changes for WordPress?

All three servers run WordPress. LiteSpeed stands out with a built-in page cache that WordPress controls through a plugin, compatibility with Apache .htaccess files and native HTTP/3 support. Apache remains the most widespread; Nginx needs server-side configuration for WordPress rules and caching.

FAQ

LiteSpeed hosting FAQ

Another question? Talk to an expert

Do I need the LiteSpeed Cache plugin?

Yes, we recommend it: the free LiteSpeed Cache plugin (on WordPress.org) drives the LSCache server cache, purges it automatically when you publish or edit content, and adds optional optimisations (CSS, JavaScript, images). Without it the LiteSpeed server still works, but the page cache is not used.

Can I keep my current caching plugin?

Use a single page cache. On a LiteSpeed server, LiteSpeed Cache is the better choice and replaces classic page-caching plugins; keep those disabled to avoid double caching. When we migrate your site, we tell you which plugins to switch off.

Will my .htaccess rules work?

Yes. Our servers run LiteSpeed Enterprise, which reads .htaccess files the way Apache does: WordPress permalinks, redirects, security or caching plugin rules. You don’t have to rewrite your configuration when moving from an Apache host to Hosterwise.

Do you use LiteSpeed Enterprise or OpenLiteSpeed?

LiteSpeed Enterprise, the commercial edition. Compared with OpenLiteSpeed, it applies .htaccess files without a server restart, supports ESI for personalised blocks in cached pages and every server-side feature of the LiteSpeed Cache plugin.

Is a Redis object cache available?

Yes, on every plan. Turn it on in LiteSpeed Cache under Cache › Object: choose the Redis method and enter the connection settings shown in your customer area or provided by our support team. It takes load off the database on pages that cannot be cached, such as the WooCommerce cart.

Is HTTP/3 enabled on my site?

Yes, end to end: between the visitor and the QUIC.cloud CDN, then on to our LiteSpeed server. Compatible browsers use it automatically as soon as your site runs over HTTPS, which the included free SSL certificate takes care of. Older browsers fall back to HTTP/2.

Is the QUIC.cloud CDN included?

Yes, on every plan at no extra cost. Your sites are served through the QUIC.cloud reverse proxy, with no subscription to take out on your side. Keep the LiteSpeed Cache plugin active in WordPress: it tells the network which pages to cache and when to purge them.

Where are your servers located?

Our servers are located in France (Roubaix). You will find this, along with every plan feature, on the pricing page.

Can I try it risk-free?

Yes: hosting comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If the plan doesn’t suit you, ask support for a refund within that period. Domain names, however, cannot be refunded once registered.
